Making More Health: Ashoka and Boehringer-Ingelheim partner up for innovations in health

Submitted on Fri, December 12, 2014

Through the global partnership between Ashoka and Boehringer-Ingelheim, over 50 Ashoka and Making More Health (MMH) Fellows have been selected and supported for their social innovations in health and wellness.

In the Philippines, the partnership between Ashoka Philippines and Boehringer-Ingelheim Philippines (BIPH) has helped launched the local Ashoka country office and has helped elect three Ashoka and Making More Health Fellows from the country: Fatima “Girlie” Garcia-Lorenzo of Kythe Foundation, Kevin Lee of A Single Drop for Safe Water, and Ines Fernandez of Arugaan. Through the partnership, employees of BIPH have also had the opportunity to volunteer for Kythe’s Child Life Program, spending time with children who are chronically ill.

BIPH and Ashoka PH are working together to find and support social entrepreneurs who have creative, impactful, and sustainable solutions to problems in the health sector of the country. Through this local partnership, we also aim to help create and nurture a Changemaking culture in the health and wellness ecosystem in the Philippines by engaging individuals and institutions who share similar values and goals, inviting international Ashoka and MMH Fellows to share their work and collaborate with changemakers in the country, and other activities.
