A time of celebration, Christmas is also a time of remembering. Remembering the year that was, good times with friends and family, and things that have colored our lives brilliantly. But let us also remember our fellow Filipinos who were and still are affected by the multiple typhoons that passed through our country.

While there are several other organizations and agencies that you can support, we feature the work of Ashoka Fellows who are responding to the needs of our countrymen and women afflicted by recent calamities.

Arugaan, Ines Fernandez

To support Arugaan, you can donate any of these items:
1. Pots, pans, and ladles
2. Knives and chopping boards
3. Pales and basins
4. Cotton blankets
5. Children's dresses, toys, and books
6. Art materials
7. Women's dresses, shoes, and sandals
8. Roofing, carpentry tools (nails, hammers, etc.)
9. Plastic containers or tupperwares (to store food)
10. Non-perishable indigenous food such as beans, squash, sweet potatoes, rootcrops, seeds, and nuts
11. Soy sauce, ketchup, and other condiments and seasoning
12. Pitchers and drinking cups for children
Arugaan does not accept cash as donation; instead of cash, plane tickets or bus tickets for the team of 2 or 3 to facilitate the mentoring of mother support groups would be most helpful.
The donation drop off is at Velvet Roxas house in 78-C Malumanay St. corner Malingap, Teachers Village, Quezon City, MetroManila. Please email Velvet at velvethere@yahoo.com or Ines at innes.sea@gmail.com for any questions or concerns.
